Closet Fail Update

Remember my closet fail?  Two full weeks later, and it still looks like this!

And this.

Good news is that we had time yesterday to make a quick trip to IKEA. Our “quick trip” last 5 hours. That’s IKEA for ya! We did pick up an awesome closet system. You are looking at box number one! He has three friends hanging out ready to be assembled. Keep waiting is all I have to say, as I first need to paint that closet and we will be out of town for a four day weekend.

Since the closet is getting a fresh coat of paint, and I intend to go for the girly look, this sweetness came home with us. A chandelier in the closet. Yes!

Nitsuj was a big help yesterday. I am not quite sure what that look is all about. He looks a bit frightened!

This is what my bedroom looked like yesterday afternoon. Today the bed is made and all that stuff is on the floor with one of the donation bags in my car. We still have work to do and of course, there still is the stair project I am working on….

But this project above has taken time away from our home improvements. It is my favorite project that will keep me busy for the next few weeks.

My son and his lovely will be  married in a few months.  I am in full “things to make for the wedding” mode and I am loving it.

It’s all good.~ Donna

Weekly Winners ~ August 14th -20th

Weekend Trip to Charleston Edition

Do you remember long ago, a time when you would visit family and friends who had recently taken a vacation? They would pull out their slide projector and you would sit through hundreds of their family photos. You would sit and grin through them all, silently wondering when it would all end. I remember. We were that family. My dad would pull out the screen and projector and proudly click away. Today, I am my father. No projector or click of slides. I am just sharing a larger collection of photos than usual. My son will be getting married in Charleston in October. My husband and I spent three wonderful days in Charleston visiting the wedding venues and meeting with vendors. It was a happy, hot, humid trip, well worth the sweat and all the calories consumed! For my family who will be traveling to Charleston for the wedding, here is a taste of what you might experience on your visit.

Sweet tunes on the road. It’s a 4 1/2 hour drive from Atlanta.
