Hello there! I am up bright and early for a Friday morning. This weekend for me is full of completing a few home projects. I am still working on my laundry room makeover and I wanted to share a quick little change I did to this Picasso Print. My lovely mother purchased this print for me years ago. I remember seeing it in a frame store in a mall in Corpus Christi, Texas. I was drawn to the simplicity of the lines and the colors.
This 20 year old print has made a few moves with me and traveled from Texas to Georgia. I did not have a place for it in my current home and I hated to put it in a closet so I hung it in my laundry room where it has been for 12 years.
While I have been sprucing up the laundry room and changing up the color scheme, I thought my old friend needed a little lift as well.
With a little help from Rust-Oleum I was able to add a little pop back into a print I have loved for many years.
Tada! Here she is with a quick color change. I have fallen in love with her all over again! I think she looks lovely with the new wall color, Swimming by Sherwin Williams.
I found a few Pablo Picasso quotes I’d like to share. I especially like the one that speaks to “ideas”. My DIY projects are usually “vague” ideas but they usually come through for me!
“Why do two colors, put one next to the other, sing? Can one really explain this? No. Just as one can never learn how to paint.”
“You have to have an idea of what you are going to do, but it should be a vague idea”
“The purpose of art is washing the dust of daily life off our souls.”
I have a busy day ahead of me. I do have a laundry room to put back together and I need to get moving along with a few other house projects I need to complete. I’ll also be “dusting” with a few art projects. Do you have a favorite item that you have held onto for years? Perhaps a quick color change will bring you a smile and a new appreciation for it.
Thanks Mom for gifting me this print long ago and to Pablo Picasso for the lovely inspiration.
It’s all good. ~ Donna
