I have a lovely jewelry box that has many compartments for earrings and bracelets. I found myself often tossing my earrings in the provided squares and they would pile up and get all tangled together. With the pile up of dangling earrings, I had many I could not easily see! I needed a way to hang them, so I could easily grab them when getting ready for the day. My solution?

A picture frame earring holder! I had an old gold picture frame I picked up from a thrift shop that I knew would be perfect for this project. I spray painted it Heirloom White.

For this project I gathered my hot glue gun, glue sticks, burlap, scissors, a utility knife, some twine and a piece of white foam board. All these items I had in my stash but they can be purchased at your local craft store.

I placed the foam board inside the picture frame and cut along the edges using my utility knife. This frame had no glass piece for it and the glass is not needed for this project.

After I cut the foam board to fit inside the picture frame, I cut the burlap allowing the burlap to overlap the foam board. I used my hot glue gun to wrap the burlap around the frame.

I then used the twine to make rows across the burlap leaving enough room between the lines for my dangling earrings. (I placed one of my earrings between the lines so I knew how much space to leave between each row.) The twine was hot glued to the back of the foam board.

This is what the back will look like when you finish your twine rows and you have place the foam board back into the frame.

To finish the back, I used the back piece of a brown grocery bag. It’s my favorite go to with framing projects. I used the grocery bag trick for my Ceiling Medallion Mirror.

I love it! I have been using it for a few months now and it works for me. I can easily see my dangling earrings and they are easy to pick up and place back at the end of the day. I also find myself changing up my daily earring selection since I can see them all now.

I have also pulled a few brooches out of my drawers as they add a nice sparkle and they are too pretty to keep hidden away!

Do you have a mad dangling earring collection? Do you have an easy solution for storage and display? I hope this inspires you to pull out all your pretties!

I will be linking up to some great parties this week. There is so much inspiration!

Happy New Year everyone! Time has flown right by over the last few weeks. Two posts for me in December? Lame. I’m working on several posts and hopefully you will be seeing more of me in the next few weeks. Now, to start back up, I want to share a Thank You sign I made for my son’s wedding back in October. I waited on this post until we received the photos back from the photographer and then I wanted to make sure everyone received the Thank You cards in the mail before I shared as to not ruin any surprise.

I came across a wooden “Thank You” sign on the Weddingbee site. I saved it in my Pinterest Wedding Board and headed to JoAnn’s to pick up the simple supplies needed for the project. Take a few minutes to follow along as I show you the easy steps to make a wooden Thank you sign.

I bought two wooden plaques in different shapes and primed them. You can find these at your local craft store.

I then spray painted them with Heirloom White. It’s one of my favorites!

I used my Cricut Calligraphy Collection cartridge and cut out the words. I think these letters were 2 or 3 inches. I played around a bit to get the right fit. Terrible photo I know but you get the idea!

I used Scotch Tacky Glue to glue on the words. I like this glue the best as it has a thin applicator tip and makes a perfect thin line.

I used my trusty friend Mod Podge and applied a layer across the entire front side, back, and sides of the wood to seal the letters and add a layer of protection. So are you ready to see the final project?

Here they are! Photo credits to Tillman Branch Photography.

This is photo we used for the post wedding Thank You postcards we created using Vista Print! I am so happy with the results. They were very easy to put together and very inexpensive. Total cost for me? $8.00 as I had the spray paint and Mod Podge on hand. The small wedding details are my favorite. I hope this inspires you as you plan your events!

I will be linking up to some great parties this week. There is so much inspiration!

This year, I am changing up the Holiday color scheme in our dining room. I am loving the silver, blue, and green decor and I have picked up a few items to get me started.

Thank you Martha Stewart for this lovely, sparkly, glitter craft yarn. It’s called glitter eyelash. Super Cute!

I picked up these tree shapes at the Dollar Tree and the glitter ribbon at JoAnn’s. I had planned on using the ribbon on the trees but did not use it. I do love that sparkle!

This project is super easy! Wrap the glitter yarn around the tree…

Use a fabric or craft glue to attach the yarn.

I only applied the glue at the top starting point and at the bottom where I cut the yarn.

Tada! I had some candle sticks in my stash and I placed the trees on top. I used some double stick tape across the top of the candle stick for support and they won’t tip over so easy.

On the left of this photo you can see where I stacked two candlesticks together. I used double stick tape on them since I did not want them to permanently be glued together.

Here is the color scheme I am working with. I love that little bird! This serving piece was a wedding anniversary gift from my Mother-in-Law.

I took a quick snapshot so you can see those little sweet trees on the buffet. I still have more decorating to do but it’s a good start! Do you have a Christmas color scheme? I have red and gold in my living room. What are you planning for Holiday Decor? I’d love to hear your plans!

I’ll be linking up to some great parties this week! Hop on over and get those creative juices flowing!

Hooray for Vacation! I am enjoying a week off from work and I plan on finishing a few home projects and working on a few new craft projects. This morning after my cup of coffee, while sitting in my pajamas, I whipped up this colorful piece for my hallway.

I have come across a lot of delightful artwork using paint chips. I quick search on Pinterest and I was inspired. So clever and no cost! Perfect.

I picked up the photo frame and paint chips months ago. My upstairs hallway has been making a transition and this piece is just the pop of color I wanted for a small space between my son’s bedroom door and the hallway door frame. I used a 2inch circle cutter and a craft glue stick.

I love all the shades of purple and with the circle cutter I was able to whip these out in minutes.

I cut a piece of card stock to 5×7 which is the print size of the frame.

I glued the circles on the card stock in an overlapping pattern and placed it in the frame. So easy and colorful!

The Paint Chip Artwork works well with the color scheme as purple is the “pop” color I am using for the hallway which I painted months ago using Behr Ultra in Silver Sateen. This is the ceiling medallion mirror I put together which is also in the hallway. In looking at these photos I noticed the same paint color in different lighting! I do love the purple and gray! Paint Chip Artwork? Do it! Need inspiration? Go to Pinterest!

I will be linking up to some great parties this week. There is so much inspiration!

Wedding planning involves a whole lot of details. It’s the small details that can up that cuteness factor. I am all about upping the cuteness factor! I used my favorite site, Pinterest to save wedding details that I happened upon while helping to plan my son’s wedding. I am a huge fan of Pinterest! If you have not heard of it yet, let me tell you that it’s a fantastic virtual pinboard. Pinboards can be used for planning events, home inspiration, recipe collections and so much more. If you would like to check out some of my wedding inspiration, click here!

During one of my wedding inspiration searches, I came across a sweet blog named It’s the Little Things. Karla created a terrific wedding direction sign. I also found a wedding site called Aisle with Style who also shared a post on wedding direction signs. These two sites inspired me to create one! My son’s wedding took place at Hampton Park Gazebo and I thought a direction sign would come in handy to lead family and friends from the parking lot to the Gazebo.

I bought six, 10 inch pre-cut wood pieces and white craft paint from Jo-Ann’s Craft Store. You can see some of the pieces I purchased above. (The long stick with the pointy end was not used in this project.) The wood pieces cost less than two dollars a piece as I shopped during one of Jo-Ann’s half off sales.

A quick painting tip! Place your brushes in a plastic bag when working with painting projects that will have a delay paint time between them. I started painted one evening and finished the next day. The brush was still soft, moist and good to go!

I also picked up two, 3 foot long sticks of wood from Jo-Ann’s. The bottoms were flat and I needed to have them pointed at the end to drive into the ground.

A chisel, hammer, and a cute husband to the rescue!

All done!

I painted two coats of the white craft paint on the long sticks.

I used my Circut Expression Machine with the Calligraphy Collection Cartridge to cut out the letters. I glued them with Scotch Quick Drying Tacky Glue. The precision tip on the applicator is helpful when gluing the smaller printed pieces. I used Mod Podge as a clear coat, and I applied it over the entire surface of the boards to seal them.

I used Liquid Nails to adhere the boards to the long stick. They held up really well but during the car transit, one of the boards was jostled in the back of the car and it popped off. Luckily I had packed the liquid nails with me to fix it.

Tada! Here it is! I made two signs since the walk from the parking was not a straight shot to the Gazebo. One sign was place by the parking lot, and the other was placed at the left turn taken leading to the wedding ceremony.

I am super happy with the results! Thanks again to Karla from It’s the Little Things and Aisle with Style for the inspiration and I hope my sweet sign inspires you too!

Saturday was a sweet day. My husband was at a disc golf tournament all day and I had the house all to myself. I have quite a few projects on my craft list, but I came across a cute printable that the terrific Kiki (AKA kiki creates) shared. Thanks to Kiki, I added a new project to the top of my list.

I pulled out two picture frames that I picked up at the thrift store a few months ago. I had spray painted them gloss white, and then I had issues with the paint cracking so I set them to the side to work with later.

You can see the cracking here. I usually do not have this problem with spray paint. It could have been the humidity or my lack of dry time between coats. Anyhoo, I had tried sanding down the area and repainting, but it did not work. I was left with crackles. I thought I would use burlap to cover the area, but it did not work as well as I would have liked. I had a hard time getting the burlap cut to fit all around the opening, and I thought perhaps a color pop would be nice, so I pulled out a few more goodies to try.

The prints had touches of yellow and orange in them, so I found some ribbon and snipped and glued and….

Love. This sweet sits in my office.

This sweet sits on my bookcase in my living room. Thanks to Kiki for sharing her talents. Be Happy. Be Awesome. Oh, and I must share that my husband won 2nd place in his tournament!

This little pretty I have had for many years. It was gold and a few months ago I changed the look and spray painted it white. I have looked through hundreds of photos trying to find a before photo but to my surprise, I cannot find one! I liked the white better than the gold, but it still needed a little kick to it.

I came across Liquid Leaf at JoAnn’s and used a half off coupon so with $2.49 spent I thought I would give it a try.

I used my handy yogurt cups to give it a lift. They have been helpful in my painting projects!

I had these stencil stipplers in my craft drawer and they were perfect for this project.

A small dab on the stippler brush…..

Tada! A super quick accent. Just the little kick I was looking for.

If you have a piece that needs a little pick me up, I recommend the Liquid Leaf. It was very easy to apply and dried very quickly. Let me know if you give it a try!

While browsing my way through Blogland, I came across this lovely site Love Sweet Love. Angela is a bundle of talent and she created a cute tiered planter that another blogger, I Am Momma Hear Me Roar, inspired her to make. I loved it and quickly pinned it to my Pinterest Outdoor Living Board. A few Friday’s ago on my off day from work, I decided to make my own tiered planter. I wanted to use materials I had on hand, and I used pots that have been sitting under my deck. This was a low cost project for me since I had all the materials to create the planter. I made a quick trip to Home Depot where I purchased the flowers.

I choose three different size pots and used a few old bricks for stacking the pots.

I set the pots up using the bricks to give them height.

A few coats of spray paint from my collection of spray paint. Yes, I have a spray paint collection. I am sure most crafters do!

I filled the pots with planting soil and flowers.

I used Creepy Jenny as the spiller. Angela gave a great tip about using thrillers, spillers, and fillers.

I used Salvia for the top pot thriller and used Zinna as the filler. These were the best priced and they are hearty flowers that will last through the summer.

Here it is! Sitting pretty. Thanks to Love Sweet Love for the inspiration. If you have old pots sitting around, try this! Super easy, very inexpensive, and a cute display!

On one of my recent Goodwill shopping trips, I was out looking for a mirror for my upstairs hallway landing. I wanted a mirror with detail but could not find one to my liking. I browsed through a few more aisles, and I came across a Ceiling Medallion. It had beautiful details and I thought I could use it to make my own mirror. Circle mirrors are easy to find at any craft store but then I remembered a mirror that was broken and sitting in my garage. Perfect!

This mirror has been sitting in my garage for some time. A moving mishap that I was not sure how to dispose of.

The ceiling medallion was a whopping $3.93 and in perfect condition. I did add a coat of white gloss spray paint to add some shine.

I used a hammer and placed a towel over the large mirror to break it into smaller pieces. When I had a piece that was the right size, I used hot glue to set it in place. Now I will admit, I added the glue to the back side of the mirror. Mistake! The glue needs to sit on the mirror so when you place it on the medallion, the mirror shines through and not the backing.

I didn’t have a picture hanger so I used my standby. A large paper clip! I applied it with hot glue, and it does hold very well!

This is what the back looked like. A hot mess. You can see here where I added the hot glue onto the wrong side of the mirror on the first try. Even though the mirror will be hanging up and you will never see the back, I wanted to cover it up that mess.

I took a large brown shopping bag and used the medallion as a template to cut a circle to place over the mess.

So much better! I added a bead of hot glue underneath the circle to hold it in place.

Here it is! All done and looking real pretty!

I love the details and the light sheen from the gloss paint.

This is the view from my bedroom. Love. It’s just what I wanted for the space.

I will be linking up to some great parties this week. There is so much inspiration!

Many of you know I love cats. Adore. Love. Love. I have four sweet bundles of fur that purr and love and that to me is a sweet thing. I have purchased a few cat beds that are located in various places around the house. Plain cat beds that do the job and provide a sweet nesting place but the crafty girl in me was looking to create something different. Something fun and unexpected. I did a quick search on Etsy for catbeds and came across the inspiration I was looking for. A vintage suitcase cat bed.

TaDa! Here she is!

I picked up an old suitcase at the Goodwill for $10. I love everything about it. The metal buckles, the luggage tag, and the blue silk lining inside. Perfect!

I purchased wooden legs, leg mounts and screws at Home Depot.

My husband was a big help here. We placed each mount on the bottom of suitcase on all four corners and drilled right through.

I spray painted the legs a Nickel color. I love the light sheen!

A quick clean up with a Magic Eraser. Genius cleaning tool!

A few craft supplies to decorate their new pad!

Cat tested.

Ginobili approves!
