The BEST Blueberry Muffins

On our Sunday trip to the grocery store I picked up two pints of Blueberries. Gotta love Summer and the $1.50 per pint price! Blueberry Muffins were a must with these beauties so I went straight to Tasty Kitchen to look for a recipe. I came across a recipe that was titled “Best Blueberry Muffins Ever” With a title like that how could I resist? craftedmybones posted this recipe and turns out she also has a sweet blog called Vanilla & Lace. Thanks Abi for sharing this delicious recipe. They really are The Best Blueberry Muffins Ever!

Ingredients:

For the Muffins

1+1/2 cups All-purpose Flour

3/4 cup Sugar

1/2 teaspoon Salt

2 teaspoons Baking Powder

1/3 cup Vegetable Oil

1 whole Egg

1/3 cups Milk

1 cup Blueberries

For the Crumb Topping

1/2 cup Sugar

1/3 cup Flour

1/4 cup Butter

1 + 1/2 teaspoon Cinnamon

Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Grease muffin tin or use those nifty cupcake liners. – Combine flour, sugar, salt, and baking powder. Add vegetable oil into a one cup measuring cup, add the egg and the milk. It will look like this….

Pretty cool looking! Now take this egg, milk, oil mixture and add it to your flour mixture. Mix it up and fold in those blueberries! For the crumb topping, mix together the sugar, flour, butter and cinnamon. Mix with a fork and sprinkle over the muffins before you bake them. Bake for 20-25 minutes. I set my timer for 20 minutes and at that point they were browning so I pulled them out. I set them out to cool for a few minutes then shared one with my husband. The BEST. We both agreed! Vickery Creek Trail

On a sweet Sunday afternoon my husband and I ventured out on a City Hike. I say City Hike because this particular trail is located in the Historic Roswell Area here in Georgia. I have been shopping and dining in Roswell, and I did not know that such a lovely green space with trails and a lovely creek were just a walk away. This loop trail explores a low knoll north of the Chattahoochee River called Vickery Creek. The trail we hiked was about 4-5 miles total. Perfect!

Sweet guide but did not see any animal tracks. I love the X print of the Owl.

The hike leads you up to this Dam. A lovely place to rest for sure!

If you see yellow tape crossing the trail, do NOT go under it unless you want to get some rock climbing in. Of course we crossed under the tape and then our trail looked like the photo above! Very narrow and rocky and below us? The rushing water. Nice. Real Nice.

Watch your step! Some of the trail has thick roots above ground. No tripping here.

I really enjoyed this short hike. Beautiful day hanging out with my honey.

Trail Dames – Woody Gap Hike

Trail Dame time! My second hike with the Trail Dames was to Woody Gap. Once again we hiked on the Appalachian Trail. I am most proud of this hike as there were times where it was quite challenging and I was not so sure I could make it non-stop. A few times on this trail we came across flat ground which then led to downhill which was sweet until we started going up the steep incline and my heart was pumping going up those hills. I heard the Dames say “keep walking and don’t stop until you get to level ground again.” I listened and I love this bunch for their encouraging words! I am very excited to join “Weekly Winners”. It is the creation of Lotus aka Sarcastic Mom. Every week from Sunday to Saturday you take photos, pick your favorites and post them on her site to share. It’s a great idea and it encourages me to take my camera everywhere I go. I discovered Weekly Winners from visiting one of my favorite photographers Mishelle Lane aka Secret Agent Mama. This will be a good thing since I’ll be taking a lot more photos and practicing with my action sets knowing I have to post on Sunday. I have photos from weeks ago I have not gotten to yet! I Heart Faces Photowalk – Atlanta

A few weeks ago I was lucky enough to grab a spot in the I heart faces photography Photo Walk. This was the first year the event was held with 20 cities participating. I am a huge fan of I heart faces and I joined as a member earlier this year. The I heart faces group has been a wonderful resource for all things photography. The members are so helpful in answering questions and there are so many tips and techniques that are shared.

The Atlanta walk was held in Oakland Cemetery. I have lived in Atlanta for 15 years and this was my first visit. Oakland Cemetery is the oldest cemetery, as well as one greenest spaces in Atlanta, Georgia. It was founded as “Atlanta Cemetery” in 1850 on six acres of land southeast of the city. The cemetery was renamed in 1872 to reflect the large number of oak and magnolia trees growing in the area. It is truly a beautiful last resting place.

I was happy to meet our group leaders Dawn Camp and Mishelle Lane. They both were so kind and very helpful in answering questions and sharing information to help those who have jumped into the Digital Camera world. Go Canon! They both are bloggers so scoot over to My Home Sweet Home and Secret Agent Mama and check out their amazing photography skills. You will be inspired for sure!

Here are the images I collected on our Photo Walk. I had a such a great time and I look forward to next year when I hope we get to do it all over again!

Owl Earrings

Last week I was catching up with one of my favorite bloggers The Pioneer Woman and I fell in love with the cutest Owl Earrings she posted about. I went straight to Krushdesignz Etsy store and bought myself a set! Etsy is a social commerce website that focuses on handmade or vintage items as well as art and craft supplies. You can find a wide range of fabulous items including art, photography, clothing, jewelry, edibles, bath & beauty products, quilts, nick-knacks and toys. Really, you must check it out.

Monica with Krush Designz has a wonderful shop where you can find fun, one of a kind jewelry. She sent me an email on June 4th to let me know she would be shipping my earrings Monday morning. Guess what came in the mail today?!
