How to make a quick, easy, colorful, candlescape!

A while back on a thrift shopping trip I came across a light blue mirror and I loved the details.  I liked the color but it did not really fit with my living room color scheme and that’s where I planned on using it. I brought that sweet piece home with me and painted it my go to color, Heirloom White.

Hello blue.

Hello white. I have been using the piece on my living room coffee table and I have been changing out the details every month. The photo above is February of course. I used a felt heart, twine, and candy hearts. I loved it! This month I decided to try a fabric wrap. Super easy and quick to put together.

I used a fabric square and cut the length to wrap around the candle. I had scrap book tacky squares and used them for this project but you can also you double stick tape.

Apply the sticky square….

Place one side of the fabric in the middle of the tacky part and……

Apply the other side to the tape and that’s it. Quick and Easy!

Colorful and sitting pretty! I hope this inspires you to try something new. The possibilities are endless!

Quick Mantle Makeover

I am a huge fan of the creative and very crafty Thrifty Decor Chick. Every time I visit Sarah’s page I am inspired. We both like to decorate on the cheap and love the thrill of a good find at a thrift store or Goodwill. I shopped around a bit at the Dollar Store and came up with a few good items to work with. Here are my results!

A few bunches of Onion Grass, Floral Foam, and a tin planter. Total cost – $4

I spray painted the tin with Oil Rubbed Bronze spray paint and I love this color!

I popped in the floral foam and pushed in the onion grass. So Simple!

I added some floral moss to the top of the container to hide all that funny business going on inside. I picked up the moss at the Dollar Tree for guess how much? $1!

Tada! But wait there is more!

Thrifty Decor Chick picked up these birds at the Dollar Tree and I was lucky to find them as well!

A quick spray of Heirloom White….

Sitting pretty! I was loving the white so I then took these…

Candle Sticks I have had for years. I really loved the dark color but let there be light!

Change is a good thing. I can always paint them again!

Mantle Before.  It has looked this way for years and I was bored with it. One day I woke up and looked at it and thought it needs more light! I have so many dark, rich colors in my home and I am ready to change it up just a bit.

Mantle After! More light. Those flowers on the bottom right should be up on the coffee table and I’m still working on the lower half of the fireplace. See Abe Lincoln in the Painting? That’s Dali’s Gala Contemplating the Mediterranean Sea which at 20 Meters Becomes a Portrait of Abraham Lincoln. Whew! That’s really the title!

Thank you Thrifty Decor Chick for the inspiration! I hope to pay it forward and inspire someone else!
